Sense Corp Sponsors Team in 2007 Komen St. Louis Race For The Cure
6/16/2007 - Sense Corp sponsored a team of employees, family members, and clients in the 2007 Komen St. Louis Race for the CureŽ through downtown St. Louis. The event was the organization's biggest ever, with 66,762 registrants raising $2.6 million! Over 4,000 survivors participated in the Race on a beautiful Saturday morning. The Susan G. Komen for the Cure promise is "to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality of care for all and energizing science to find the cures".
In eight short years, the Komen St. Louis Race for the Cure has raised over ten million dollars for breast cancer research and local education, screening and treatment programs. Seventy-five percent of the net proceeds have been invested in the St. Louis metro community through grants furthering breast cancer awareness and early detection. Twenty-five percent of the funds have been used in the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Award and Research program for breast cancer specific research.
By supporting this event and others like it, Sense Corp continues its long-standing commitment to the battle to end cancer while encouraging active employee participation in the philanthropy community.
